What do I need to bring?

We recommend you bring water, hat, sunscreen, raincoat (just incase) and of course your camera.

What are the departure times?

8:30am

These times are subject to weather and demand. We ask that you please report to our shop 30 minutes before departure.

Transportation is dependent on marine weather and river bar conditions. It is very important we receive contact on our freephone 0800 354 7737 between 7:00pm and 8:00pm to confirm the tour.

What is the duration of your tour?

Please allow for 4 hours.

Do you provide refreshment?

We provide lunch and a hot beverage. You must bring your own water. Other food items may not be permitted due to biosecurity procedures. Please discuss with our crew.

How big is the boat?

We use two boats to transport to Whale Island, and where needed multiple transfers will be arranged. 

Taniwha - 26 feet (8 metres) 300 horse power. Surveyed for 15 passengers plus crew.

Blue Sky - 32 feet (10 metres), 320 horse power. Surveyed for 25 passengers plus crew.

What happens in case of a medical emergency?

All our staff have medical first aid training.
